A man and woman were arrested Monday on drug charges after a high-speed chase through Whitfield and Murray counties that ended in a crash.

John Travis Horn, 47, was driving a Ford Explorer on Maple Grove Road in Dalton, when a Georgia State Patrol trooper tried to stop his car, a news release states.

Horn kept driving until he wrecked his vehicle on Greeson Bend Road in Murray County, according to Whitfield County Sheriff Scott Chitwood.

Horn and his passenger, Debora Faye Brown, 49, were arrested on charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, Chitwood said. Horn also was charged with multiple traffic violations, he said.

An undercover investigation by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the Whitfield County Sheriff's Office seized more than a pound of methamphetamine, which Chitwood said is worth more than $20,000.
