Give Jesus a try this Christmas

Approximately 2,000 years ago, there lived a person on the Earth who if one believed and followed his teachings would save one from all one's problems.

If all the people who live on the Earth whether they be called Hindu, or Muslim, or Jew, or Christian, or any other name including atheist, believe and follow his teaching, the world will be saved.

If you haven't tried it, don't knock it.

That person's name is Jesus.

Voter appreciates right to vote

I recently retired to Chattanooga, which I thoroughly enjoy. I also recently registered to drive and vote here. Within moments of entering the new registration facility on Dayton Boulevard, I had a number and enjoyed my hour wait reading (a retirement benefit). All workers were pleasant and helpful as well. Thousands have perished in other countries, as did our forebears during our revolution for the right to vote, so I feel that an hour or two (one time) during the new resident process doesn't even register on the sacrifice/frustration graph. esides, I spent many hours shoveling over 10 feet of snow last winter, so this was a piece of cake.

Christmas season is wonderful

It's Christmas again. I love to celebrate Christ's birthday. I love the Bible story about Jesus being born in a manger.

I love the beautiful Christmas carols we sing.

I love to give gifts because it is better to give than receive. My daddy and I love the song "Silent Night" because a church named Brainerd Baptist sang that song on Christmas Eve. It is a beautiful song.

I miss my loved ones and friends, but they are in heaven with Jesus, having a great time.

Jesus was born in a manger a long time ago.

Christmas is wonderful.
