Donelson law firm boosts score

The law firm of Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz, PC, has received a score of 85 in the Human Rights Campaign 2012 Corporate Equality Index. This marks a 15-point increase from the firm's 2011 equality index score.

Mark A. Baugh, chair of Baker Donelson's Diversity Committee, said many employers had lower scores this year because of more stringent criteria. In 2011, Baker Donelson revised its Equal Employment Opportunity policy to include sexual orientation, gender identity and marital status, and revised its bereavement policy to extend to domestic partners and their families.

"We value our employees at Baker Donelson and are honored to be able to participate in this survey," Baugh said.

Baker Donelson is listed by MultiCultural Law magazine as among "Top 100 Law Firms for Diversity" and the "Top 100 Law Firms for Women."
