Murder cases against mother, boyfriend moved to January 2012 in Chattanooga

First-degree murder cases against a mother and her boyfriend in the death of her 4-year-old son have been moved to Jan. 10.

Preliminary hearings against Patricia Brewer, 23, and Kenneth Coleman, 21, General Sessions Court Judge David Bales ruled today.

Tyre’ke Evans was pronounced dead on arrival at Children’s Hospital at Erlanger on Dec. 19. A Hamilton County medical examiner’s report later said his liver and bowels were jaggedly torn, his lungs were bleeding, his brain was swollen and he had recent and healing rib fractures.

Tyre’ke’s brother, 3-year-old Donamiche Brewer, was taken to the hospital the same night and admitted with a lacerated liver and other injuries. He was released from the hospital on Friday and is now with family members, police said.

Brewer and Coleman face charges of first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder and two counts of aggravated child abuse.

Brewer’s bond is set at $3 million, and Coleman’s is set at $4 million. Bales did not change their bail amounts today.

The people who done all of these things should have the exact same punishment, and see if they survive.

Let's wait until all the facts are in. At least before condemning the mother. The boyfriend is a different issue.

Maybe the mom will get a casey anthony jurist panel.
