INTERACTIVE: Salary increase breakdown

Police in LaFayette, Ga., are sending LaFayette High School students home after a handwritten bomb threat was delivered to the school this morning.

Police dogs now are at the school as investigators work make sure the note is a false alarm, LaFayette Public Safety Director Tommy Freeman said.

After the school was evacuated around 10 a.m. today, officials decided students shouldn't stand in the cold and rainy weather for several hours until the school could be examined, Freeman said. The buses were sent for to take the students home, he said.

"It's got more to do with the weather than anything else," he said.
