Cleveland teams finish 1-2-3

CROSSVILLE, Tenn.-There was a strong Cleveland presence in Crossville on Saturday, especially at Stone Memorial High School, which hosted the Region 3 wrestling tournament.

Bradley Central, Cleveland and Walker Valley swept the tournament's top three spots. Bradley qualified all 14 of its wrestlers for the traditional state tournament, which starts Thursday in Franklin. Cleveland qualified 13 and Walker Valley six.

Bradley champions were Jacob Climer (112), Aaron Hutson (119), Ethan Hames (125), Jericho Crutcher (130), Bradley Colbaugh (152), Jacob Bailey (160) and Tucker Bolton (215). Colbaugh was named the tournament's best wrestler.

Cleveland had four champions: Austin Stevison (103), Marvin Lopez (135), Aaron Lopez (140) and Jesse Jones (189). Walker Valley's lone winner was Cole Dias (145).

The runners-up were Dakota Brumley (103), Tyler Schuch (135), Tyler Pitts (140), Blake Jackson (145) and Patrick Benson (285) from Bradley; Austin Oliver (112), Haden Hamilton (125), Brandon Strickland (130) and Isaiah Nichols (160) from Cleveland; and Caleb Langford (119) from Walker Valley.
