Chattanooga's top tourism official said today that plans are to tap into the Gulf Coast market when Vision Airlines begins new nonstop service to Destin/Fort Walton Beach, Fla., in April.
Bob Doak, the Chattanooga Area Convention and Visitors Bureau chief executive, said it plans to work with the Florida Panhandle cities' chambers of commerce and CVBs to entice people to the Scenic City.
"We'd do reciprocal agreements," he said, including e-mail blasts to interested people.
Vision, a Suwanee, Ga.-based carrier that began as a charter line, is launching commercial flights in more than 20 cities, including Chattanooga. The airline will fly between Chattanooga to Northwest Florida Regional Airport in Eglin, Fla.
