Local contestant survives on “American Idol”

Staff report

Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe High School student Lauren Alaina (Suddeth) survived another elimination round on “American Idol” Wednesday night. Alaina, who got her ticket punched to Hollywood during Nashville auditions, was the only member of her all-female vocal quartet to advance during the Hollywood-week taping. Spoiler websites continue to project Alaina to stay alive deep into the competition.
