A man on a fishing boat found a woman's body in the Tennessee River this afternoon, according to a police spokeswoman.

Police haven’t any details about the body, which is floating near the north end of Williams Island.

The body has not washed up on shore, Officer Rebecca Royval, Chattanooga police spokeswoman said.

A Chattanooga Fire Department boating unit and Volunteer State Rescue Services crews are on the scene.
