A Bradley County man charged with cultivating marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of drugs for resale will appear in court Feb. 22 after he was arrested in Florida boarding a flight to Ecuador.

Police took interest in Mark Daniel Bowman, 31, after a burglary-in-progress was reported at his Mount Bethel Road home on Feb. 5. Responding officers entered the home through an unsecured door while looking for burglars and saw several marijuana plants. A warrant was taken out, and investigators found nearly 200 marijuana plants in the home.

Florida police arrested Bowman about three days later, and he was transported back to Bradley County on Wednesday. He is being held by the Bradley County Sheriff's Office on $75,000 bail and will appear in General Sessions Court.
