Family members of a woman reported missing on Christmas Eve made funeral arrangements Thursday after boaters discovered her body near Williams Island this week.

Jennifer Germann, 40, was reported missing Dec. 24 after her car was found near the Olgiati Bridge, according to Chattanooga police.

On Thursday, her body was found floating near the north side of Williams Island by boaters who contacted authorities.

Volunteer State Rescue Service and Chattanooga Fire Department boats retrieved Germann's body, which was taken to the Hamilton County Medical Examiner's Office.

Investigators do not believe foul play was involved in Germann's death and have ruled it a suicide, pending a completed report from the medical examiner.

Dental records were deemed "insufficient" in identifying her body, officials said, so investigators relied on other medical records for identification.

Family members plan to hold a memorial service at 3 p.m. Sunday at First-Centenary United Methodist Church on McCallie Avenue.
