Man charged in brother's shooting

One brother spent the night in jail and another was taken to an area hospital after a shooting Friday night, according to the Chattanooga Police Department.

Jacob Hamby, 27, is charged with attempted first degree murder and aggravated assault after he allegedly shot his brother, 25-year-old Zachary Hamby, according to police.

Zachary Hamby was taken to Erlanger hospital and treated for his injuries. He is expected to recover from the shooting that took place at 7641 Dewayne Road.

Jacob Hamby had not appeared before a judge early Saturday and did not have a bond set. He remains at Hamilton County Jail.
