Margaret Harris, charged with shooting a 17-year-old who died Friday, Feb. 19, 2011.

A Hamilton County grand jury will hear the case against a 37-year-old mother charged with killing her daughter's 17-year-old boyfriend.

General Sessions Court Judge Clarence Shattuck sent criminal homicide charges against Margaret Harris to the grand jury this morning for possible indictment.

The judge also denied bond.

Harris was arrested after fleeing the scene at 1308 Orchard Knob on Feb. 18. Police accuse Harris of shooting James Dominick Sherrell in the stomach.

Sherrell, who was the boyfriend of Harris' daughter Latoya Harris, later died.

Before today's hearing, court officers had to step in during a verbal altercation between family and friends of Harris and Sherrell outside the courtroom.

No I dont think this is a executed case, I know this lady and I know all the circumstances around the whole situation, not all of this has been told yet but it will be when it goes to trial, the family and fruiends of the victim tormented this lady and her family, they broke into her house, they shot bullet holes in her cars, they robbed her, a total of 20 kids beat her one child so bad that she was hospitalized, the victims mother killed someone a few years back and that is why she has that scar on her neck, that victims family retalated against her, did that family see any justice then appearently not the woman never went to prison, what makes her any different in this case well there is a difference, that victim wasnt harrassed by her like her family has harrassed ms harris, they to this day are driving by her parents threatening them, they have put threats along with a photo of her on facebook that reads " dead b...." across it, so think who is the real victim here? here daughter put the cousin of the deceased boy in jail for beating on her and that is what got all this started int he first place, see all that hasnt been told so lets get all the facts her beofre yu go putting her in the electric chair

Strong @Alana63 Let me start by saying i dont live in Chattanooga, but I am Dominick older cousin. Most importantly I loved him. He didnt be deserve any of this. Your statement is so pointless his mom did this his cousins did that, but what did he do? He need to die because of mistakes made by other ppl he knows? So, the sames goes for you right? IF her daughter can stand up and say my mother was wrong then you need to sit down. IF all this was happening that was a issue for the law. She has no right to open firer in the middle of the street on anyone. So the for she will do time. So in short go sit down somewhere BAM!

I agree shon219, her statement is very pointless... I don't care what everyone else did, what did he do to deserve this? Nothing. She had no right to take that young man's life. If she or anyone in her family had those things happened then they should have called the police. This selfish and ignorant woman has no regard for human life apparently. She got off work, drove home, got her gun, drove to the fight and shot and killed this young man. That was premeditated murder as far as i'm concerned. And i have no sympathy for her at all, my sympathy is with his mom, family and friends. This young man was loved by so many people in Chattanooga, including my children. She had other options, she could have called the police but instead she decided to take the law into her own hands. I hope and pray that they keep her locked up for the rest of her life. The death penalty would be even better. She is not the victim, James Sherrell and his family are the victims. I hope she rots in hell for what she's done. I wish i was a juror in her trial. I can't even stand to look at her on tv.

Only way to stop some people is to kill them. I feel bad for the lady.
