The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga football team held its first of 15 spring practices this morning at Scrappy Moore Field. The Mocs practiced for about two hours in shorts and helmets, and coach Russ Huesman walked off the field with a smile on his face.

"I thought it was enthusiastic and spirited," he said. "I thought they knew how to practice."

Quarterback B.J. Coleman appeared to be in midseason form for most of the practice, especially on his deep throws. He hit wideout Marlon Anthony on a couple of bombs.

Practice was like a family reunion for Coleman, whose father Bryon was looking, as was younger brother and UTC tight end signee Jarrod, a senior at McCallie.

Also on hand were two other signees: Huesman's son, Baylor quarterback Jacob Huesman, and Northwest Whitfield offensive lineman Synjen Herren.
