Lightfoot Mill Road body not linked to local missing persons

The body found by two men collecting metal cans on Lighfoot Mill Road on Saturday does not match any any of the people on the local missing persons list, Chattanooga police spokeswoman Rebecca Royval said today.

Royval said the body, that of a white male, still has not been identified, though investigators are trying to match its fingerprints in their database.

Royval said the body was partially clothed and lying just off the road in the brush. She said it appeared to have been there for at least a couple of days.

The body does not show any signs of violence such as blunt trauma, gunshot or knife wounds, Royval said. The cause of death is still under investigation.
