The Krystal Company announced today that Bob Marshall has been named chief financial officer for the Chattanooga-based fast-food restaurant chain.

Marshall, a former Chattem Inc. executive who served as president of the Livingston Co. before joining Krystal two years ago, previously served as Krystal's vice president of development. He succeeds James W. Bear, who has retired.

Krystal CEO Fred Exum said Marshall "will be a driving force on the team as we prepare for tremendous growth in the coming years."

Since joining Krystal in early 2008, Marshall has been primarily responsible for leading the company-owned new restaurant development initiative.

"I believe there is substantial opportunity to continue to grow the value of the Krystal brand, a southeastern icon for almost 80 years," Marshall said.
