Authorities in Dalton, Ga., are investigating a suspected case of arson that destroyed a large box truck and also caused structural damage at Premier Carpet Solutions.

Employees of the Callahan Road business found what is left of the burned truck when they returned to work on Monday morning, said police spokesman Bruce Frazier.

The incident happened sometime between Friday afternoon and Monday morning, Frazier said.

The truck was a total loss and the fire damaged a metal awning behind the truck.

"Fortunately, the fire didn't cause further damage to the building itself," Frazier said in a written statement.

The Georgia Arson Control Program Inc. offers rewards up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of people responsible for arson fires, he said.
