  • Commissioners choose new Chairman
    After several votes to elect a new Hamilton County Mayor, Hamilton County Commissioners chose to replace Commission Chairman Fred Skillern with District 3 Commissioner Jim Coppinger Wednesday. Skillern chose to step down due to family health concerns, and forego the possibility of becoming Hamilton County Mayor when Claude Ramsey leaves Jan. 11. The Hamilton County Commission chose to end their meeting in a recess, and reconvene on Jan. 10, to decide on a permanent mayor.
