Woman injured by thrown jar

A woman was taken to Erlanger hospital Tuesday after being hit on the nose with a jar at the Walmart near Eastgate Town Center in Chattanooga.

Chattanooga police Officer Jonathan Parker responded to an assault call and found Robin Brown with a severely injured nose, according to a police report. Brown told officers she was shopping in the frozen foods aisle when a thrown jar of Tostito's salsa struck her.

The police report states that Brown's nose was broken. She required several stitches and had possible facial fractures that could require plastic surgery.

Police found that two other shoppers, Gerald Parham Jr. and Timothy Keith, had gotten into an argument and that Keith threw the jar at Parham but hit Brown.

The report states that warrants were issued for Keith on two counts of aggravated assault -- one for the intended victim and the other for the actual victim -- and reckless endangerment.

Keith had not been booked as of Wednesday night, according to the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office.

Facebook check ends in stabbing

Chattanooga police were called to Parkridge Medical Center early Tuesday to investigate a stabbing, according to a report.

Caprecia Ervin, who had been cut on her hand, told officers she had left a local bar and went to the home of Eric Bone. She told officers that while at Bone's house she checked her Facebook account and Bone became angry and grabbed her from behind.

According to the report, Ervin scratched Bone's arm and bit his hand in an attempt to get free. She said Bone cut her hand with a pocketknife.

Officers found Bone at his 2303 E. Fifth St. home. He was taken into custody and charged with aggravated assault by domestic violence, according to the report.
