A man charged with sexually assaulting two teenage girls was booked into the Hamilton County Jail on Monday, according to court documents.

Christopher J. Johnson, 46, faces charges of aggravated rape and especially aggravated kidnapping, records show.

The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office reported that Johnson took two girls, one 13 and the other 14, to a McDonald's on Browns Ferry Road in Lookout Valley, and then took them to a wooded area behind a Wilcox Road address. Once they reached the wooded area, Johnson bound the girls with duct tape and sexually assaulted and raped them numerous times, the affidavit states. Johnson was one of the girls' relatives, according to an affidavit of complaint.

The girls said Johnson let them go, and they were both treated at a rape crisis center soon after, court records show.

Johnson was later found with a self-inflicted knife wound and a suicide note. He was treated at Erlanger hospital before being booked into the Hamilton County Jail, the report states.

Relatives have told the sheriff's office that Johnson has a drug problem. He also faces a charge for passing worthless checks.

His bond is set at $151,000. His next court date is scheduled for July 21.
