ELYSBURG, Pa. - A 6-year-old boy has died after hitting his head while jumping into a pool at an amusement park in eastern Pennsylvania.
The accident happened in the early afternoon Wednesday at Knoebels (kuh-NO'-bulz) Amusement Resort in Elysburg, about 95 miles northwest of Philadelphia. WNEP-TV reports guards first tried to resuscitate the boy and he was then taken to a nearby hospital by ambulance.
The park took down its regular website Thursday and replaced it with a message offering condolences to the boy's family. His name was not released.
