The Bradley County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal crash at the intersection of Freewill Road and Georgetown Drive on Monday.

The crash was two years later to the day of another fatal accident at the same intersection, according to Bob Gault, spokesman for the Bradley County Sheriff's Office.

Robert Greenfield Headrick, 78, of Georgetown, Tenn., died early Tuesday morning of injuries from Monday's collision, which happened just before 5 p.m.

Investigation said Headrick failed to yield the right of way before proceeding through the intersection, Gault said.

Headrick's Buick struck a Chevrolet heading north on Freewill Road driven by 55-year-old Glen Wayne Towns, of Charleston, Tenn.

Headrick was taken to SkyRidge Medical Center for treatment, then died while being transferred by ambulance to Erlanger hospital. Towns had minor injuries.

The investigation is continuing by the sheriff's office traffic unit.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol was called to the same intersection just over two hours later to investigate another crash. No injuries were reported in that accident, Gault said.

Bradley County has recorded four traffic fatalities this year, according to Gault.
