A Bradley County man accused of killing his wife has been arrested in North Carolina, authorities said.

David Keith Daugherty, 41, was arrested this afternoon in custody in Cherokee, N.C., said Bob Gault, spokesman for the Bradley County Sheriff's Office.

A warrant for first-degree murder was issued for Daugherty after the body of his wife, 40-year-old Elizabeth Carney, was found Tuesday in her trailer.

The two had been married for less than two months.
