The top selling U.S. brands of soft drinks in 2010:

  1. Coke, which captured 17 percent of all soft drink sales

  2. Diet Coke, which moved ahead of Pepsi for the first time last year with 9.9 percent of the market

  3. Pepsi-Cola, which got 9.5 percent of all soft drink sales in 2010

  4. Mountain Dew, which garnered 6.8 percent of the market

  5. Dr Pepper, which captured 6.2 percent of the market
