Things I Wish My Kids Would Ask Me

Editor's NOTE: Barry Courter has a 22-year-old son who recently graduated from college and a 17-year-old daughter who is a senior in high school.

Q: Dad, I'm involved in a lot of stuff, and sometimes there are scheduling conflicts. What should I do?

A: Young people today do way more than my generation ever did. Many of these activities are important. However, you have to set a priority at the beginning and stick to it. School has to come first. After that, if you work, that has to be up there. If you commit to more than one team or group, set a priority, tell everyone involved and stick to it. The other members depend on you.

CNN STARTS STREAMING NEWS

Video news from CNN and Headline News started streaming live and online to mobile devices last week, including to Apple's iPhone, iPad and Touch. The live stream is also available on CNN.com, according to CNN Worldwide, which says it is the first news group to beam its teline and onto the mobile devices of some customers. Streaming is available to about 50 million households subscribing to "participating pay-TV providers," including AT&T, Comcast, Cox, DISH Network, Suddenlink and Verizon. To access the streams, customers must authenticate their app by signing in with their pay-TV provider details. I downloaded the iPhone version, logged in with my AT&T U-Verse account information and was able to stream the feed nice and smoothly over Wi-Fi. The video stream also comes in over 3G reliably, too, but the video quality isn't as sharp and clear compared to Wi-Fi.
