Engineers open Southside office

Ragan Smith Associates, a Nashville-based engineering, landscape and surveying firm, has opened an office in Chattanooga.

Jeff Sikes, vice president and local office manager, will oversee the new site on Cowart Street.

The company has been working for 78 years in the region. Sikes said he plans to hire up to 50 people over the next two years.

"I've got several projects going on where I'll be able to hire at least 10 folks within six months," Sikes said.

The group serves government and corporate clients in the Southeast.

CBL opens outlet in Oklahoma

CBL & Associates Properties Inc. opened an 83-store outlet center in Oklahoma City on Friday, the Chattanooga-based company said.

The Outlet Shoppes at Oklahoma City is fully leased with more than 40 of the stores new to Oklahoma City, according to the developer.

"We expect that this center will become a favored retail destination for Oklahoma City residents as well as another great reason for tourists to visit the city," said Stephen Lebovitz, chief executive officer of CBL, which developed the center with Horizon Group Properties.
