The air conditioning in the Hamilton County Jail went out this week and won’t be restored until sometime next week, county officials said today.
More than 500 inmates on six floors are trying to keep cool using box fans, extra water and frequent servings of ice water, popsicles and ice cream, according to G.A. Bennett, director of support services in the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office.
In a news release, Bennett said a motor in the air conditioning unit failed. He said a new unit will be installed early next week.
He said inmates are being allowed to wear their jumpsuits just to the waist and the kitchen is looking at cold menus.

I don't have an air conditioner but no one is feeding me ice cream. I guess crime does pay.
Sure, Dave. You should totally check yourself into jail so you can get some free ice cream!
If they did not have air in the first place. They might do a better job of staying out of jail.

Arrested, not yet conficted the crime for which they are charged. Which means INNOCENT UNTIL OTHERWISE PROVEN GUILTY. At least that's the way it is suppose to happen in America. Too many tend to forget that.
yes there are people in jails that shouldn't really be there. and i used to belive in being proven guilty until working in corrections now i think public executions should be brought back.
