Chickamauga man arrested in Alabama after high-speed chase

RAINBOW CITY, Ala. - Authorities have arrested a Georgia man they say stole a car in Alabama and led authorities on a high-speed chase.

Officers arrested 34-year-old Jesse Stephens Paradise, of Chickamauga, Ga., was arrested around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday.

The Etowah County sheriff's office say Paradise stole a car in Rainbow City on Monday and led officers on a high-speed chase that ended in a wreck. They say he then ran into the woods.

Authorities say he faces felony assault and burglary charges and misdemeanor unlawful imprisonment and harassment charges for an assault and burglary that happened while he was running from officers. Additional charges from Rainbow City are pending.

Paradise was being held in the Etowah County Detention Center on $151,000 bond. It was not immediately clear whether he had a lawyer.
