What are the top five fastest growing areas for construction jobs?

Among the 79 metropolitan areas in the Southeast, construction employment was down over the past year in 50 metro areas, up in 22 and unchanged in seven over the past year. Metro Chattanooga added 100 construction jobs in the past year, or 1 percent of its total.

1 Shreveport, La., where construction employment grew 16 percent in the past year, adding 1,300 jobs

2 Houma, Bayou Cane and Thibodaux, La., where construction employment grew 6 percent, or 800 jobs.

3 Huntsville, Ala., where construction employment grew by 9 percent, or 600 jobs.

4 Jackson, Miss., where construction employment grew by 8 percent, or 800 jobs.

5 Cleveland, Tenn., construction jobs up 8 percent, or 100 jobs.
