Police investigate Rossville kidnapping, robbery

North Georgia and Chattanooga police are searching for three people who abducted a woman and then left her at a Chattanooga house when she didn't lead them to her boyfriend, authorities said.

Late Tuesday night, police were told three men ransacked 38-year-old Chansonette Young's Rossville, Ga., home and then abducted her, demanding she take them to her boyfriend, Chattanooga Police Department spokeswoman Sgt. Jerri Weary said.

Young told authorities she directed the men to where she thought her boyfriend might be, but it was the Noah Street home of someone else, Weary said.

The man who lives there told police that, when he answered the door, the men pushed the door in and began to search the house for drugs and money, Weary said. The suspects made the homeowner lay down in his bathtub and they fled, leaving Young behind, Weary said.

At this point police don't believe Young or the Noah Street resident were the targets, and investigators still are trying to identify and locate Young's boyfriend, Weary said.

Both Chattanooga police and the Walker County Sheriff's Office are involved in the investigation.
