Chattanooga Police said they have had reports that a person had been shot near 27th Street and Fourth Avenue last night around 10 o'clock.
Shortly afterwards, police officials said they received a call from Erlanger hospital informing them that a gunshot victim had shown up at the hospital.
The responding officer spoke to the gunshot victim Robert Smith, 23, at the hospital but was given multiple accounts of the incident, police said.
