Jail air conditioning may be fixed today

Air conditioning problems plaguing Hamilton County Jail are expected to be fixed by this afternoon, jail officials said Thursday.

A malfunctioning air conditioning motor caused the cooling outage at the jail in the middle of an intense heat wave. A new motor arrived Thursday and will soon replace the old one, officials said in a news release.

Since the air conditioning went down, air and water cooling fans have helped keep the jail tolerable.
