A man has been arrested in a shooting that happened Saturday evening on Dorris Street, Chattanooga police say.
Charlie Tyron Bell, 27, turned himself in early this morning, according to police spokeswoman Sgt. Jerri Weary. He was interviewed and taken to the Hamilton County Jail, Weary said. She did not say what charges Bell faces.
Weary said the shooting victim, Orlandas Gay, 22, told police that Bell called him and asked him to come to Bell's home at 5241 Dorris St. When he arrived, Bell began firing at him, Gay told police. Gay was struck multiple times in both legs and was taken to Erlanger, where he had emergency surgery.
His condition is unknown this afternoon.
