Officers believe foul play was involved in the death of the woman, whose name is being withheld until next of kin can be notified, said Officer Erik Hopkins, spokesman for the East Ridge Police Department.

She was found dead inside her home on the 700 block of Hardin Drive about 11 a.m.

The cause of death is unknown, and the woman's body was taken to the Hamilton County Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy, Hopkins said.

Officers are not releasing why the death is considered suspicious because the investigation is ongoing, he said.
