Smokies rally to edge Lookouts, 7-6

KODAK, Tenn.-Matthew Spencer's three-run home run to right-center field off Shawn Tolleson capped a four-run eighth inning that gave the Tennessee Smokies a 7-6 win over the visiting Chattanooga Lookouts in Southern League baseball Friday night.

The loss denied Chattanooga (33-35) an opportunity for a winning first half.

The Lookouts pounced for four first-inning runs on Alfredo Silverio's leadoff homer to center, Scott Van Slyke's RBI double to left and Wilberto Ortiz's two-run triple to right. An RBI double to left by Brian Cavazos-Galvez in the fourth inning and an RBI double to left by Silverio in the sixth extend Chattanooga's edge to 6-1.

Game four of a five-game series is tonight at 6:15. Nate Eovaldi (4-4, 2.83 ERA) is the scheduled starting pitcher for the Lookouts, with Dallas Beeler (1-1, 3.27) scheduled for the Smokies.
