About 1,000 residents in Catoosa, Walker, Whitfield and Murray counties still were without power at 10 a.m. this morning after Saturday's storms, according to a news release from the North Georgia Electric Membership Corp.

Crews were working to restore power, but utility officials anticipated it might be Tuesday before all power is restored.

The storm resulted in numerous broken poles and downed power lines, officials said.
