SWAT called to intervene in Bonny Oaks standoff

The Chattanooga Police Department has surrounded a home and called in its SWAT team to held intervene in a standoff incident at a home at 4139 Bonny Oaks Drive.

According to police spokeswoman Officer Rebecca Royval the call originally came in as a disorder and escalated as shots were fired within the home.

According to police, a man has barricaded himself in the house and has a handgun.

Royval could not say whether anyone was in the home with the suspect.
