Chattanooga: The Den has beer license suspended

Thursday, March 3, 2011

The Chattanooga Beer and Wrecker Board voted 8-1 today to suspend the beer license for The Den Sports Bar & Lounge.

The club, located at 1200 E. 23rd St., will lose its license for three days after the bar continued serving past 3 a.m. The suspension begins at 8 a.m. Friday

The suspension was for serving about 20 people after hours and for having two open bottles of vodka during a Jan. 23 incident, according to reports.

The bar also received a written notice for disorderly conduct after marijuana particles were found inside.

Police said they had to knock for 20 minutes before someone opened the locked front door to the business.
