A woman was displaced this morning when a blaze dealt an estimated $55,000 of damage to her rented home at 6908 Short Tail Springs Road, according to a Chattanooga Fire Department media release.
Jean Davovick told firefighters she heard a popping noise and quickly realized her house was on fire.
Firefighters responded after a neighbor reported the fire at 11:50 a.m. They quickly stopped the blaze from spreading throughout the house and determined it started in the living room area.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
