A doctor who was charged with writing illegal prescriptions from a Catoosa County weight loss clinic two weeks ago has been released on bond.

Dr. Norman Neal, of Cleveland, Tenn., posted a $50,000 bond on Tuesday and was released from jail, court officials said.

Neal, who worked for Doctor's Health Center in Fort Oglethorpe, was charged with 24 counts of signing blank prescriptions and five counts of illegally possessing controlled substances, booking reports show.

Local and federal police raided the clinic on March 1 and arrested Neal. Police said they found more evidence in Neal's truck to charge him additionally.
