CLEVELAND, Tenn. - The Cleveland Board of Education has scheduled a special meeting Monday, March 28, to select the next director of city schools.
The board launched a search for a new director through the Tennessee School Boards Association in 2010 after Dr. Rick Denning announced retirement plans at the close of the current school year.
The board narrowed its list of candidates to two - Damon Cathey, current assistant superintendent of Kingsport city schools, and Martin Ringstaff, currently director of personnel with the Bristol, Va., school district.
The special meeting will be 5:30 p.m. at the administrative office building on Mouse Creek Road.
