A Fort Payne corrections officer spent time on the other side of the bars Thursday after he was charged with stealing $175 worth of an inmate’s property.
Jesse Aaron House, 19, of Fort Payne, was charged with theft following a Thursday investigation into an inmate’s missing property, according to a DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office release.
House resigned from his position, returned the stolen items and was released on a $500 bond, the release said.
