Crash shuts down eastbound I-24 on Monteagle

MONTEAGLE, Tenn. — Interstate 24 atop Monteagle Mountain has reopened after an early morning crash blocked the eastbound lanes, TDOT officials say.

The crash at mile marker 129 was reported shortly after 6 a.m. EDT, and the highway was reopened a few minutes before 11 a.m., Tennessee Department of Transportation spokeswoman Jennifer Flynn said this morning.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol routed traffic around the crash, which Flynn said involved a commercial vehicle.
