Overturned 18-wheeler halts I-24 traffic

The eastbound lanes of Interstate 24 are still backed up this morning with an 18-wheeler having flipped on its side just before the Interstate 75 split.

Police officials have opened the left lane to traffic but the right lane remains closed.

Police officials said there is no indication when traffic will be back to normal.

"There's no way we can estimate when the cleanup will be completed and traffic back to normal with something this big," a police official said. "It's a big mess."
