Q: How many bus lines are there?
A: CARTA has 18 routes.
Q: Tell us about electric shuttles.
A: CARTA owns 15 of the small electric buses used on the downtown shuttle and two hybrid electric buses used on the fixed routes. They run every six minutes.
Q: How often do buses run?
A: Each route has a different schedule. Go to CARTA's website at www.gocarta.org to see the routes and the current locations of buses..
Q: Where can people hop on?
A: Bus stops are marked on each route. Or call CARTA information at 423-629-1473 and get personalized information from our information operators.
Q: What other services does CARTA provide?
A: CARTA also provides the Care-A-Van service, which is for people with disabilities who cannot use the regular buses. In addition, CARTA operates the Lookout Mountain Incline Railway as well as three parking garages, several lots and all the metered parking downtown.
Q: Who can ride the bus?
A: Anyone may use the bus. Those who cannot use the regular service due to disability may call the Careavan service at 423-698-9038.
