Chattanooga and Hamilton County offer several ways for residents to recycle items as common as newspaper and as volatile as pesticides. Here's how to do your part in keeping the Scenic City green and clean.
Chattanooga offers curbside pickup for cardboard, newspaper, all unshredded paper grades, plastic No. 1 and No. 2, aluminum and steel cans. Materials must be put in blue bags, clear bags or covered bins marked "Recycle" and do not need to be sorted.
To make sure your area is covered by the program, call 423-643-5646.
To sign up, call 311.
The following recycling centers are open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 1-5 p.m. Sunday. For information, call 423-425-6311.
