Gordon County sheriff's deputies are asking for the public's help to locate a fugitive wanted in connection with the abuse of a 3-year-old girl.

Leon Curtis, 30, is wanted on aggravated battery charges, Sheriff Mitch Ralston said in a news release.

Curtis is described as a black male with a shaved head and a tattoo on his chest, Ralston said. He may be driving a late-model Volkswagen Jetta, and his last known address is believed to be 400 Greeson Loop, Ralston said.

Police advised that Curtis should not be approached and that anyone who spots him should call 911.
