Two arrested in Bradley over stealing of HVAC units

Keith Marion Sewell, 47, of Dowdy Road, and Frank Walter Weathers, 56, of Greendale Place, have been arrested by Bradley County Sheriff’s deputies for allegedly stealing HVAC units from a commercial building in an area of Bradley County that been heavily damaged by tornadoes.

Sewell and Weathers were charged with theft of more than $500. They posted bail of $5,000 apiece and have been released.

A sheriff’s department release said that at about 7 p.m. Monday deputies had gone to Springplace Village at 2260 Spriingplace Road in response to a report of a citizen about looting.

The release said deputies observed Sewell and Weathers loading air conditioning units and materials into a truck, and stated that the two said they had permission for the items.

The report said the person the men said had told them they could take the property denied doing so and the property owner agreed.
