Lauren Suddeth's Facebook fans have been urging the "American Idol" finalist to tackle a Carrie Underwood song since the start of Season 10. Wednesday night she obliged.

The Rossville teen stepped out of her comfort zone to rock Underwood's "Flat on the Floor," arguably her most animated performance to date.

Judge Randy Jackson cheered the performance saying, "I love you are showing a fun, energetic side."

"For a 16-year-old girl, and you sing like that, the sky's the limit," said judge Steven Tyler.

The five finalists still in the hunt for the "Idol" crown each sang a contemporary hit and one from the 1960s. Suddeth's golden oldie was the Righteous Brothers' "Unchained Melody," which the teen told the audience was her parents' favorite song and she chose it for them.

Her performance provided the breakout moment the judges have been pushing her to produce. The arrangement showcased her broad vocal range, smart use of improvised runs and almost perfect pitch.

"There's nothing to judge," said judge Jennifer Lopez. "It was beautiful."

Viewers will learn who advances to the final four on Thursday's results show at 8 p.m.on Fox.
