I-24 lanes closed this weekend for repairs

Thursday, May 5, 2011

The eastbound side of Interstate 24 at mile marker 181.9 will have lane closures 7 p.m. Friday through 6 a.m. Monday for repairs.

Either one lane or two lanes will be closed for removal and replacement of a 500-foot section of concrete pavement, according to the Tennessee Department of Transportation. Two lanes of traffic will be open except for 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., when only one lane may be available.

The work is part of a $5.3 million major resurfacing and repair project on I-24 from the Missionary Ridge Cut near South Crest Road at mile marker 183 to west of Chattanooga Creek near Moccasin Bend at mile marker 177.

The work will take place as weather permits.
